Golf 4 All Day at the 3M Open
Golf 4 All Day at the 3M Open gave kids a chance to experience golf in a fun and immersive way. 500 kids from across the Twin Cities came out to enjoy the day.
This week’s PGA Tour stop is the 3M Open in Blaine, Minn. We visited the tournament’s Golf 4 All Day, an interactive event focused on getting kids to experience a PGA Tour event in a unique way.
Golf 4 All Day gave more than 500 kids a chance to see how golf intersects with science, art, music, fashion, food and culture. There were art displays, food, a DJ, a high-tech science dome, and other fun activities. Golf 4 All Day was more than just 3M and the PGA Tour. The First Tee of Minnesota was involved, as was the local PGA of America section. Sports stars including Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph of the Minnesota Vikings were also part of the event.
The day concluded with a panel discussion and a Q&A session in the Bell Bank Pavilion. Kids got the chance to ask questions of Thielen, Rudolph and former NFL star Larry Fitzgerald and others. If there was an overriding message for the kids it was this: Golf can be a lot of fun. It can also be challenging. Sticking with it through the ups and downs will teach you a lot about yourself and life.
